Welcome to My Vintage Reselling Adventure!

Hey there, and welcome to my little corner of the internet! If you're stumbling across this blog, chances are you're interested in vintage home goods or maybe thinking about starting your own small business. Either way, you're in the right place! Let me take you on a journey through my reselling hustle that began on Instagram during the pandemic, blossomed into an Etsy shop, and has now grown into this blog!

The Spark that Ignited My Passion

Like many of us, the pandemic threw a curveball into my daily routine. Whether at work or stuck at home, scrolling endlessly through social media, I found myself captivated by vintage resellers and their exciting finds. The unique styles, the stories behind each item – I was hooked. It dawned on me that there are others out there equally obsessed with vintage finds. That’s when I decided to start my own Instagram page dedicated to reselling vintage.

Turning Passion into a Business

As I began posting my curated finds, I really began to learn more about myself and my audience. Joining the community that is vintage resale you certainly get to learn tips, tricks and info Google couldn't help you find. However, I found myself sourcing items that I thought people would want and items I had seen similar pages sell with ease. But this soon began to be a disservice because although these items seemingly had resale value, I was sitting on them longer than I had hoped. It wasn't until I realized that being consistent, learning product photography and most importantly buying things that I aligned with and personally loved that I began to build traction. My audience began to grow! People resonated with what I was doing, and before I knew it, I was selling items directly through Instagram. Those initial sales were thrilling, and the feedback I received was beyond motivating. However, I quickly realized I needed a more structured platform to grow my little side hustle further, especially after becoming a mom. Enter Etsy!

Transitioning to an Etsy shop allowed me to showcase a larger inventory and reach a global audience. Setting up my shop was relatively easy, and I loved the fact that Etsy has a built-in community of vintage lovers. Listing items became a creative outlet as I experimented with unique descriptions and photography styles. I also discovered the importance of SEO—something that took time to master but paid off in making my shop discoverable.

Bringing it All Together: A Blog!

Now here I am, excited to launch this blog! It serves multiple purposes: a space for me to share my journey, impart vintage tips, and discuss the ins and outs of running a small business. I want to connect with fellow enthusiasts, provide advice, and maybe inspire someone out there to take the leap into the world of reselling. It's not just about selling; it's about the stories and the connections we make along the way.
